Cloverhill Ceramics
Cloverhill Ceramics is the working studio of Lisa Brown, who trained in ceramics in Carmarthen, Wales, more than twenty years ago but did not return to clay until 2016, when she took up pottery again as a form of stress relief. That renewed practice grew into a small business, made in a converted stone outbuilding roughly two hundred years old on her property outside Magherafelt. Brown throws functional pieces on the wheel, mugs, bowls and jugs among them, in small runs rather than mass production, and sells them through her own online shop and social media alongside occasional local craft fairs. The studio is not a walk-in retail shop, and pieces are generally bought online or by direct arrangement with Brown. It is a one-person, single-site maker rather than any kind of chain or collective.

Notorious Pizza Co, Magherafelt
Notorious Pizza Co. began in late 2016 when three friends from the Limavady area, DJ O'Brien, Ruairi Glavin and Odhran Hassan, started firing wood-fired pizzas from a trailer after finding it difficult to source authentic pizza locally. The trailer traded around Mid Ulster from 2018 before the trio opened a permanent, single-site restaurant at 44 Queen Street, Magherafelt, in September 2022, serving Neapolitan-style pizza with an Irish twist alongside cocktails in a sit-down dining room. The original trailer still operates for events and markets, but the Magherafelt address remains the only fixed restaurant location. The name reflects the trio's early struggle to find decent pizza in Northern Ireland, turned into a running joke that stuck.

Production moved on-site in 2019, using the farm's own spring water and renewable power. The brewery makes a year-round range including an Irish stout, a New England IPA and an Irish white ale, alongside seasonal and limited-run batches. There is no public taproom, but the McCays run bookable farm and brewery tours that take in the fields, the water source and the tasting room, and their beer is sold online and stocked in bars including Belfast's Sunflower. The business remains entirely family-run.
